The Mint Museum Wedding | Rachel and Jon Katz

The Mint Museum Wedding | Rachel and Jon Katz

Oh where to begin with this Mint Museum wedding…my love for Rachel and Jon runs REALLY deep…to the end of the Earth and back. I absolutely LOVE them. They will certainly be friends of mine for life and I was so honored to have photographed their perfect wedding this past Saturday. If you can’t remember Rachel and Jon, let me jog your memory a bit. Last December I flew to New York City where Rachel and Jon live to photograph their beautiful engagement session. It was beyond epic and career changing for me, because it put my name on the map for New York City clients – three more of which booked for 2019! In case you missed the session – you can revisit it {here}.

This time, Rachel and Jon came to Charlotte for their AMAZING Mint Museum Wedding. This wedding was a photographers dream for many reason, but among the top were the dream team of vendors I worked with! Tiffany Prichett of Hart and Co pulled the event together with ease and truly made Rachel’s vision a reality. Since Rachel had lived in Charlotte previously and worked closely with Something Classic Catering, she knew she wanted family and food to be a top priority – which made this foodies heart sing. The spread these two had was impeccable. The wine was top notch, and well the family made the event one of the best I’ve ever been part of.

The Westin Polk Suite | Getting Ready

Our morning started at The Polk Suite in The Westin Hotel where Lindsey Reagan Thorne of Be Pretty, and her team glammed the girls up. You all know how much I adore LRT and every client she works with truly feels the same. The girls looked outstanding. Because Rachel and Jon really wanted to enjoy the events and guests after the ceremony, we stacked all photos prior to the ceremony – another reason I love these two. We started with a first look in my most favorite spot to photograph uptown, and then welcomed family to join us early at The Mint to knock out formal photos. By the time 6 PM rolled around, every photo had been taken and it was go time.

The Mint Museum Wedding | Ceremony

As Rachel walked down the aisle in her beautiful gown, Jon’s elation was shining through. Jon is the man I hope my son becomes when he is older. Jon is the kindest soul, an outstanding human and genuinely cares about people, and making YOU feel like you’ve been best friends for life. It was no surprise every speech spoke to these qualities as well..I digress. The pride he felt when she walked towards his was infectious. The rest of the ceremony was magnificent. A few highlights were the seven blessings, the reading of the Ketubah and of course, the breaking of the glass.

The Mint Museum Wedding | Reception

After the ceremony, Jon and Rachel had their Yichud before joining cocktail hour. Once introductions took place, the rest of the night flew by. Jon’s best man serenaded Rachel and Jon as they took their first dance to the most BEAUTIFUL version of Al Green’s ‘Lets Stay Together.’ The night was filled with music by the band Horizon, love and laughter. It truly was a night to remember and one that I will never forget!!

To Rachel and Jon: I wish you a LIFETIME of happiness, love and joy. You are two of my favorite clients in the WORLD!!! I cannot wait to see where your journey takes you!!!
